~ Good Morning and Happy Saturday!
Today, our devotion, and Bible verses, come to us from…
• Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 •
“You are better having a friend than to be all alone, because then you will get more enjoyment out of what you earn. (10)If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble. (11)If you sleep alone, you won’t have anyone to keep you warm on a cold night. (12)Someone might be able to beat up one of you, but not both of you. As the saying goes, “A rope made from three strands of cord is hard to break.”” (CEV)
✝️ In verses 9-12, we have what is still a relevant proverb. The author speaks to us about the importance of companionship.
V. 9: “You are better having a friend than to be all alone.”
• WHY IS THIS❓
• V. 9: Because when you are working with someone, you will have more fun and experience more joy.
• V. 10: If you fall, you will have a friend to help you up.
• V. 11: If you have a companion with you on a cold night, you can huddle up and stay warm. (This doesn’t refer to a husband and wife; it is referring to friends, or comrades.)
• V. 12: Two can fight and defend themselves better than one can. — “A rope made from three strands of cord is hard to break.”
‼️ IT PAYS TO BE A FRIEND‼️
Many Blessings to You and Yours!
