~ Good Morning everyone! I’ve been out of commission for a few weeks, but I’m back and desire to continue encouraging you each morning with a fresh Word from the Lord.

• 1 Peter‬ ‭3:8-12 ‭(NLT‬) •

(8)“Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
(9)Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will grant you His blessing.
(10)For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.
(11)Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
(12)The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and His ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns His face against those who do evil.””‬

COMMENTARY:
The Apostle Peter calls his readers to inherit a godly blessing through unity, love, upright conduct and to repay evil with good.

Another point Peter is attempting to make, he does by quoting Psalms 34:12–16. He does this to emphasize the point that believers are called to be a blessing to the world.

One commentator I read said, Peter, here, “seems to indicate that believers are meant to live the words of this psalm through their long-suffering, so that the evil of the world may be gradually changed.”

BOTTOM LINE:
When we do right, we are not only setting ourselves up for a godly blessing, but we are also being a tremendous witness, for Jesus, in the world we live in.

I don’t know about you, but I want to be a World Changer for Jesus!

Be Blessed Today!

Sincerely,
